Sacred Space: Celebrating 10 years of Alfreda’s Cinema

Alfreda's Cinema 10th Anniversary Celebration

Alfreda’s Cinema is a non-profit organization committed to providing a platform for Black and brown filmmakers and nurturing diverse voices in the independent film industry. Our 10-year anniversary salon will take place on Sunday, May 4th between 6-9pm, at the Lichen furniture gallery and store in Ridgewood, Queens. We will screen a shorts program that speaks to our tenure and passion for sharing stories that exemplify the love and richness of our culture, followed by a discussion with the founder, Melissa Lyde.

We aim to raise funds to further support our vision of creating a stable, healthy, and welcoming space for underrepresented filmmakers and audiences. Funding will directly benefit BIPOC artists and filmmakers who will have access to a dedicated space for screenings, discussions, and workshops, helping them thrive in an often exclusionary industry. This celebration will not only serve as a fundraising event but also as a significant milestone for the growth of our community’s creative industry.

Complimentary Spirits & Light Refreshments♥️ 🥂🤍
